Τουλάχιστον 250 άνθρωποι σκοτώθηκαν στο ανατολικό Αφγανιστάν από τον ισχυρό σεισμό των 6,1 βαθμών που σημειώθηκε την Τρίτη (21/06), ανακοίνωσαν αξιωματούχοι της υπηρεσίας διαχείρισης καταστροφών.
Οι περισσότεροι θάνατοι εντοπίζονται στην επαρχία Πακτίκα, όπου 100 άνθρωποι έχασαν τη ζωή τους και 250 τραυματίστηκαν, δήλωσε ο Μοχάμαντ Νάσιμ Χακάνι επικεφαλής της υπηρεσίας αντιμετώπισης καταστροφών των Ταλιμπάν.
Εξάλλου, σύμφωνα με τον ίδιο, υπάρχουν αναφορές για νεκρούς στις ανατολικές επαρχίες Νανγκαρχάρ και Χοστ, ενώ οι αρχές συνεχίζουν την αποτίμηση των ζημιών.
